Feb 7, 2018. An ongoing country wide program in Zimbabwe in a bid to increase rainfall. Half a million worth of dollars have been set aside from the national budget towards this exercise. Zimbabwe has adopted this programme almost yearly since independence (except for 4years) . Zimbabwe occasionally experiences dry spells which, have been directly linked to climate change in recent years. Cloud seeding increases rainfall by 20-30 percent according to experts. However some argue it has never been statistically proven to work. There’s claims of negative environmental impact by this process which are disputable. The bottom line is Climate Change is real and its effects are already being witnessed globally.
